Multi-Cultural Festival and Fun day for Magherafelt

Magherafelt’s first Multi-Cultural Festival took place on Saturday 5th October 2013 at Meadowbank Sports Arena, Ballyronan Road, Magherafelt, from 12 noon – 4:00pm.

This was a first festival of Ethnic Arts, Culture and Heritage in Magherafelt which aimed to celebrate the diversity of the district.

“The Magherafelt festival has been largely organised by ArtsEkta, a Belfast Company that organised the Botanic Gardens event”. It had a colourful parade involving musicians and dancers from India, Poland, China, Lithuania, and Mexico. Nationalist and Unionist cultures will also be involved, plus stilt walkers and jugglers; each will then perform separately on stage.

This one day festival is supported by the Office of the First, and Deputy First Ministers, Stormont, and Magherafelt District Council.
