Serious Concerns & Evaluation Proposals for the Future of Lifeline

Attached you will find Contact Concerns & Evaluation Proposals briefing paper, challenging PHA plans for the future of Lifeline.

Serious Concerns & Evaluation Proposals for Lifeline fff 22.6.17

Contact NI Suicide Prevention Bill Brefing ff 27.3.17

Our purpose is to stimulate a more considered, safe approach to the future of the regional Lifeline service, following the rejection by more than 60% of respondents to out-of-date PHA plans to downgrade, fragment and underfund the regional Lifeline crisis helpline and wraparound counselling service.

You will note Contact request due consideration to our proposal for an Assembly cross-party Confidential Expert Panel Inquiry, to review 31 Lifeline caller suicide deaths of people in our care last year alone. The proposed expert panel review will establish baseline regional learning from bereaved loved ones, NHS providers and Lifeline, informing future plans for Lifeline and the Protect Life 2 Suicide Prevention Strategy.

We will keep you posted on developments, including regional feedback on the proposed Suicide Prevention Bill (attached) setting minimum standards of corporate & clinical duties of Candour, Competence & Cooperation.

For now your feedback on our attached concerns paper most welcome, as are your innovative co-design ideas on cooperative campaigning to drive down the regional suicide death rate.
