600 Visas Issued to Ukrainians with sponsors in Northern Ireland

Up until 27th April 2022 the Home Office issued 600 visas to Ukrainians whose proposed sponsors were in Northern Ireland. It is unknown how many people actually arrived in NI and it is also unknown how many Ukrainians arrived without a visa via Dublin.

Four Ukraine Assistance Centres operate accross NI to help with navigating various systems and accessing public services: GP registrations, NINO applications, bank accounts, school registrations, benefit applications, local support organizations contacts. No appointment needed – drop in service on designated days.

On 29th April Home Office published UK wide statistics on Home for Ukraine Visas

Total Ukraine Scheme visas issued to people: 86,100
Data is as of 27 April 2022 and comprised of:
Ukraine Family Scheme visas: 34,900
Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme visas: 51,300
Of those issued under the Sponsorship Scheme, visas issued where the sponsor was from:
Scotland: 5,200 (of which 3,000 sponsored by the Scottish Government)
Wales: 2,300 (of which 670 sponsored by the Welsh Government)
Northern Ireland: 600
Total arrivals of visa-holders in the UK: 27,100
Data is as of 25 April 2022 and comprised of:
arrivals via Ukraine Family Scheme: 16,000
arrivals via Ukraine Sponsorship Scheme: 11,100
