WheelWorks

WheelWorks is a youth arts organisation that supports the creative development of children and young people aged 4-25 across Northern Ireland, who may not otherwise have access to high quality artistic activity. We support their social and cultural development through accessible and innovative community based programmes, which provide a creative fusion of art forms, harnessing the arts for learning and change and giving young people a voice. We work in partnership with communities to provide taster workshops and issue based programmes which help young people learn new skills and express themselves through traditional and digital art. Activity is designed to reach and engage the most vulnerable young people, including those from cultural and ethnic minority communities, ‘detached’ young people, disabled young people, young people ‘at risk’ of anti social behaviour and those from rurally isolated areas, areas of economic and social deprivation and interface areas. WheelWorks prides itself on the quality of its programmes and outputs. Selecting the most skilled artists ensures that the young people have positive, stimulating and creative experiences and the artwork they do is always to an extremely high standard, ensuring that their self-esteem and confidence receive a boost and they feel pride in their achievements.
