Join Us for the Stronger Together Annual Conference at Queen’s University Belfast

We are excited to announce the Stronger Together Annual Conference, taking place on March 5th, 2025, at Queen’s University Belfast. This year’s theme, “What is Sanctuary in 2025?”, promises to be a thought-provoking exploration of the evolving concept of sanctuary in our modern world.

The Sanctuary Movement has been instrumental in advocating for more compassionate and inclusive policies, highlighting the importance of protecting vulnerable individuals and communities. This conference will bring together advocates, policymakers, community leaders, and individuals from all sectors to discuss best practices and innovative approaches to supporting people seeking sanctuary in Northern Ireland and beyond.

 Event Highlights:

  • Keynote Speakers: Hear from leading experts and practitioners in the field, including Dr. Veronica Crosbie, Chairperson of Places of Sanctuary Ireland, and Maggie Filipova-Rivers, Regional Coordinator and Local Authority Network Lead for UK Councils of Sanctuary.
  • Panel Discussions: Engage with lived experience guests as they share their stories and insights on the challenges and triumphs of seeking sanctuary.
  • Workshops: Participate in workshops on various strands of the Sanctuary Movement, including education, health, faith, art, employment, housing, community development, and libraries/museums.
