A Festival of Hope and Art.

Join us for four days of FREE celebrations as Little Amal, the 12 foot puppet of a 10 year old Syrian refugee makes a BIG journey to Belfast. She has become a global symbol of human rights, especially those of refugees.

Since July 2021, Amal has travelled to 160 towns and cities in 15 countries and been welcomed by two million people at over 400 creative events.  Amal’s journey is a celebration of migration and cultural diversity, and is one of the largest public art projects in the world.

Between 16 – 19 May, we will welcome Little Amal to Belfast with events created by award winning theatre director Des Kennedy, leading artists and residents of the city.

Produced by ArtsEkta in partnership with Belfast City Council and The Walk Productions for Belfast 2024 – a year long cultural celebration made by the people of Belfast.

Can you help us show Little Amal a warm Belfast welcome that our city is famous for?

We would love to see as many different groups as possible to be involved in welcoming Amal at the events and will be working closely with groups and the public to co-create artwork, props, dance performances, music, and costumes.

If you are interested in taking part in the programme please contact
admin@artsekta.org.uk or tel 028 9023 1381

The full Little Amal programme will be revealed soon and can be found at www.artsekta.org.uk
