Census 2021 – BME Information

Census 2021 is Almost Here….

Every 10 years we collect information about everyone in Northern Ireland.  We do this by asking some questions about you and your family, where you live and where you work.  This is called a census.  Your answers are very important and are completely confidential.  Your personal information will never be shared with any other government organisations.

There is a wide and diverse range of BME communities living in Northern Ireland and we want to make sure that everyone is counted.

Your answers are used to help make decisions about how vital services such as schools, housing and hospitals are planned and funded.  It is also used by community groups to apply for funding so that they can provide the resources needed by BME communities.

Census day will be on March 21st, but you will receive a letter with an access codes in the post from the beginning of March 2021.  As soon as you get the letter you can fill in the census.

We have language support available in 17 languages and our Language Line can assist in up to 50 languages.
