ESOL classes in FE Colleges and community provision 2024-25 academic year – Northern Ireland
Please below updated information on the current opportunities for ESOL learners who wish to apply and enrol with provision across the whole province.
It includes alternative opportunities to Belfast based ESOL students who may not have been able to secure an assessment and enrolment slot with the Belfast Met last Thursday (14th Aug), as well as current summer classes list as per last update in July 2024.
A new list of community classes is currently kindly being compiled by our volunteer partners Johanne Martin and Angela Russell. Updates will follow later, when finalised.
In addition, the document containing FE colleges and ESOL NI website information is currently being translated to a number of different languages and will circulate within the next few days to be distributed amongst learners and support organisations, together with the upcoming ESOL NI E-zine August 2024 Edition.
ESOL opportunities for 24-25 academic year English
Summer English class ESOL list – as of 1st July 2024
Note to Belfast Met ESOL learners:Â Belfast Met ESOL provision at Girdwood Community Hub is back from October 2024. However, priority will be given to anyone who meets the criteria and is re-enrolling as a Belfast Met student from 2023-2024 academic year (i.e. refugees and asylum seekers, learners with small children ages 0-4, young learners ages 16 to 24 with the appropriate level of English to meet the criteria for the ESOL Element and ESOL Transitions programmes). Once this cohort is re-enrolled accordingly, the currently registered learners taking an assessment with the Belfast Met will be considered for this provision if places are still available. In case of remaining places available after the above process, the additional provision will be advertised for new registrations on a first comes, first served basis. Watch out for our updates!
