Dear EU citizens and supporters,
As we approach the next UK General Election, our communities are coming together and organising for change. You are invited to be a part of this journey!
In the same way that political parties of all stripes publish manifestos with their pledges to the electorate, we have been producing our own people-powered manifesto to shine a spotlight on the priority issues affecting EU citizens in the UK and to put forward concrete policy proposals that have the potential of bringing about justice and transforming the lives of so many.
Sneak peek into our Manifesto:
1. Exercising rights under the EU Settlement Scheme and UK-EU Withdrawal Agreement: Resolving ongoing challenges
2. A fair, compassionate and efficient immigration system for everyone
3. Anti-racism: Equity among EU citizens, standing against racialisation and discrimination
4. Encouraging EU citizens’ representation and participation in UK society
This Manifesto is the result of months of outreach and listening, not only on the part of the3million’s staff team but of the members of the EU Citizens’ Campaigns Network. Together, we have visited and built relationships with grassroots communities… from Omagh to Edinburgh through to Peterborough and West London, from Saturday Schools to faith groups as well as local charities and trade union branches. As always, we have also consulted with partners across the migration sector to learn from their expertise.
Now is the time to launch this Manifesto for Change and turn it into a springboard from which to build the power of EU/EEA citizens and our family members and to put our priorities on the agenda of decision-makers and power-holders: from MPs to Council Leaders, to funders and public institutions.
Join us on Tuesday 7th May from 19:00 to 20:15 for an engaging presentation of EU citizens’ priority issues and proposals for change. You will hear from people directly impacted by these issues and you will have opportunities to reflect and discuss with others in small Breakout groups.
