These courses are currently available to be delivered free, to local centres and groups through the Belfast Unemployed Resource Centre.
Community Leadership
We provide bespoke community leadership training which can include topics such as: Topics include: What is community?;Community resources; Mission statement; Strategic Planning ; SMART objectives; Ideas creation; Action planning; Identifying skills and gaps; Governance; Leadership; Management versus Leadership; Funding ; Networking ; Conflict Resolution; Public Appointment process; Role Models and Mentoring.
Delivery Time: 6 x 2 hour sessions
Community Leadership – Train the Trainer
Our community Leadership training is now being delivered to local communities to support them in training their local communities, to set up their own community groups and navigate the local systems. By leaving skills in communities the training is able to be delivered in various languages.
Delivery Time: 6 x 2 hour sessions
Play Training, for practitioners and parents.
Participants will be supported through a theoretical and practical journey of the importance of play and play advocacy.
This training course will be delivered over 4 sessions, using a variety of teaching methods including: presentation; group discussion; practical demonstration; practical exercise.

Mental Health
Coping with daily stresses is the focus programme and this course, it provides parents/ local communities with skills, which they can pass on to family members/ community members to help take pause and deal with everyday challenges.
Delivery Time: 6 x 2 hour sessions.
Volunteer Induction & Training – English Language Training for Community Delivery.
The training we provide in a 10 hour course for volunteers within communities for those who wish to provide English language support, no previous experience of teaching English necessary. Training includes: Increased awareness of learners background. Material and resources appropriate for the needs of learners. Some delivery techniques with practical communication challenges. Ongoing support is provided by linking people to BURC’s resources and support.
Delivery Time: 5 x 2 hour sessions.
Social Enterprise.
If you or your group are interested in developing a Social enterprise or explore social innovation we can support you by exploring the idea and if you decide to go ahead we can provide some, one to one mentoring and support with legal fees to register
