Action on Hearing are providing information to older people including people from BME communities to ensure they are better informed on how to manage their hearing loss
Action on Hearing Loss Northern Ireland is part of the new UK Hear to Inform and Connect (2017-19) project, funded by the Big Lottery Fund. This project will help to grow our information service to reach even more older people with hearing loss.
The service will focus on providing information to older people who are more difficult to reach, including:
- People living in residential and nursing homes and sheltered accommodation
- People from black, Asian and minority ethnic communities
- People living in rural communities.
The aim of the project is to ensure older people (over 50) with hearing loss feel better informed about how to manage their hearing loss, and where to access further support in their local area. Our information teams will also work with care homes, community groups and local organisations that provide services or support for older people with hearing loss, to help them make their services more accessible and inclusive.
Please get in touch if you’d like to find out more, or if you have any groups that would like an information talk or hearing check session, or maybe you know someone who is concerned about their hearing. You can give me a call on 028 90239619 or 07587 130 502 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
