Mid Ulster Refugee Week, which takes place from 16 – 21 June 2025, is being co-ordinated by STEP and Mid Ulster District Council.

- Navigating Conversations: Monday 16th June 2025, The Junction, Dungannon. 9.45am – 12.00pm
We’re partnering with Act Now to deliver this workshop on supporting positive conversations about migration and understanding the harms of repeating harmful narratives.
Priority booking for community and voluntary groups but all applications welcome.

- Film night at Hill of the O’Neill, Dungannon: Friday 20th June 2025. Doors open at 7pm for 7.30pm screening.
We’ll be showing the powerful and poignant feature length film ‘Fremont’, a comedy-drama which follows a young Afghan woman as she attempts to rebuild her life in California. Cert 12A.
Donya spends her days working at a fortune cookie factory and her nights wide awake battling between her desire to rebuild her life and the overbearing guilt she carries within. In a bid to connect with the world, she sends an unconventional message through a fortune cookie.Â

- Simple Acts: Easy ideas for everyday actions we can all do to stand with refugees and make new connections in our communities.
- Resource packs: inspiration and information on how to take part in Refugee Week for event organisers; neighbourhoods; children and young people.
- Social media toolkit and public marketing folder:Â helpful text, images and videos to help you spread awareness of Refugee Week and promote your own activities online.
- Film programme: 5 shorts and 2 feature length films that explore the theme of #communityasasuperpower. All the films can be watched globally for free –no need to get rights or licensing,
