Prof Tess Maginess (Director of Queen’s University Open Learning Programme – Adult Education) has received funding to undertake a project with older migrant women and women from established migrant communities, exploring their experience using the arts. We are looking for migrant women aged 55+ who live in Northern Ireland and moved here in the past few decades from a different country/culture.
From September 2023, participants will attend some free weekly workshops to talk about their experience and express it through a variety of artistic and crafty approaches under the facilitators’ guidance (a story or a song from their childhood, a poem they would like to write, some sewing work, any other craft work, etc.). No qualifications or skills are required to attend these workshops, and participants will gain university credits.
