Red Cross Refugee Support: Orientation Support for asylum seekers / new refugees outside Belfast.
As asylum seekers are being placed in locations outside Belfast, British Red Cross acknowledges it can be difficult to settle into a different area, especially if you have been living in Belfast prior and have made local links there. We can help make sure they are receiving their rights and entitlements, able to access local services and assist with getting involved in the local community.
We also provide this service for new refugees who want to live outside Belfast. We can provide advocacy and casework regarding housing, benefits, schools, GPs and community integration to help settle in their area.
