SMS Messaging Service for Air Pollution Alerts ‘AIR AWARE’

A new SMS messaging service has been established by the Department of the Environment, in conjunction with the DHSSPS called “Air Aware”.  This service which is now available will notify subscribers by text message to their mobile phone when air pollution levels are high or are forecast to be high.  This free service may be helpful for people with respiratory, heart and other conditions which can be exacerbated by higher levels of air pollution, and you may wish to avail of it or advise family members or friends.
