Belfast City Council is the local authority for Belfast, the capital and largest city of Northern Ireland. With a unique geographic location between Europe and the US, we also have strong links with the rest of the island of Ireland through the Dublin Belfast Economic Corridor.

Today’s Belfast is a city transformed. Cranes can be seen across the skyline, as new offices, hotels, student and residential accommodation are being built. Belfast City Council is committed to building on this momentum. Through our Belfast Agenda, we are working to ensure that Belfast continues to grow and develop as a global city, attracting investment and boosting the health and prosperity of all our citizens.

Over the next five years, we aim to create 15,000 new jobs in Belfast, double the value of tourism, and deliver the ambitious £1 billion Belfast Region City Deal programme of investment. By 2035, we also aim to deliver 31,600 new homes in Belfast and increase the city’s population by 66,000.

Through our Bolder Vision, we’re working with our partners in central government to create a more attractive, accessible, safe and vibrant city centre – developing a greener, more walkable, cyclable network of streets and places where more people choose to live.

Working with our partners in the city and beyond, we have a vision for Belfast that is open, welcoming, bursts with culture and is a great place to live, work, study, visit and invest.
