Support the Joint Council for the Welfare of Immigrants Campaign ‘In the Gaps’

This pandemic has shaken up our entire world order.

Front pages, applause and rainbows have been dedicated to the workers who are keeping the country moving.

And from the ‘you clap for me now’ video, to the calls for visa extensions from NHS workers, to the stories of factory workers being denied basic rights and protections, there is a spotlight on the migrants doing this vital work, like never before.

But what are the experiences of those doing the work? And how does your immigration status affect how protected you are in this crisis?

Working with the amazing artist Sabba Khan, we’ve created In The Gaps, a comic which looks at the ways migrant workers have been left unprotected in this crisis.

Here’s a preview…

The pandemic has shown we need to level up rights for all workers. For migrants to be safe and secure in work we need an end to the hostile environment, which has put so many people’s lives at risk in this crisis.
